Neighbourly is proud to unveil its GoGive Christmas campaign, created to harness the collective power of the business community to support local charities across the UK and Ireland during the winter.

For three months, from the start of December through to the end of February 2025, this mass collaborative initiative will bring together businesses, their teams and customers through a huge boost in festive volunteering, product donations and fundraising initiatives. The campaign to aims to deliver:

  • 5,000 hours of community volunteering
  • £1 million in financial support
  • 18 million meals worth of surplus food donations
  • Support for 5,000 local good causes
  • Positive impact on over 5 million people

“As a purpose-led business, we work in collaboration with our partners so we can have a positive impact that will benefit our customers and our communities. During the winter period, families often face heightened challenges, making it more important than ever to support our communities - that’s why we are supporting the GoGive Christmas campaign.  Seeing the direct effect our employees have had through volunteering and charitable fund raising, coupled with Neighbourly’s micro-grants to good causes most in need, brings to life our commitment to having a positive social impact in our communities.” – Mark Brown, Head of Impact and Sustainability, Motability Operations

Why GoGive Matters

The campaign launches at a pivotal moment for charitable organisations:

  • 70% of charities anticipate increased service demand in Autumn and Winter
  • 65% of small charities have struggled with volunteer recruitment
  • 1 in 3 charities fear being overwhelmed by community needs
  • Food aid organisations are turning away an average of 45 people weekly due to capacity constraints

Each winter small charities and community causes around the UK and Ireland are faced with an urgent need for extra support. By launching the GoGive campaign, Neighbourly hopes to bridge a vital gap between good causes, businesses and individuals that can help.

By making it easier for companies to offer their help and resources, GoGive presents a unique opportunity for businesses to come together in a national festive giving drive, alongside campaign sponsors including M&S, Motability Operations, Institute for Social Value (SVUK), Liberty Global and a whole host of Neighbourly partners like Aldi, Lidl, Gallagher, RSA, JD Foundation, B&Q, Virgin Media 02 and Sainsbury’s.

"The Institute for Social Value believes in the power of community, collaboration, meaningful impact and proactive engagement with our members. As a proud partner of Neighbourly’s GoGive campaign, we’re joining forces with businesses across the UK and Ireland to address essential community needs this winter. This initiative offers a valuable opportunity to inspire positive change, and we’re excited to share it with our member community and beyond." Isabelle Parasram OBE, Chief Executive Officer of The Institute for Social Value

Steve Butterworth, CEO of Neighbourly, shared: "The GoGive Campaign represents a unique opportunity for businesses to come together and make a real difference in their local neighbourhoods. By harnessing the collective power of corporate resources and the great community spirit of giving, we aim to provide crucial support to those most in need during the winter months."
